St. Regis Paper Expanding

St. Regis invested $9.5 million in timberlands in 1968, with the addition of 95,000 acres. These included well-stocked slash pine plantations in north-central Florida and 33,000 acres in Maine.

Aerial photography was combined with ground cruising in Maine to provide more reliable data on the volume, age class, and timber types on company land. Such data were essential in planning expansion of the Bucksport Mill.
