St. Regis Acquires Bucksport Mill

Three mills were purchased from Time Inc.: the Maine Seaboard Paper Company at Bucksport, Maine; the Hennepin Paper Company at Little Falls, Minnesota; and the Bryant Paper Company at Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The Bucksport facility was expanded over the years, but the mills at Little Falls and Kalamazoo were eventually eliminated.

Bucksport, Deferiet, and Sartell became the crux of the Printing Paper Division, and improvements made at these mills between 1956 and 1958 increased yearly capacity by forty thousand tons.
